Default wheelies and recklessness

Simple question.

Why is a wheelie reckless driving?

Because its easy to cause accidents while doing a wheelie? I think its more or less to discourage people trying to learn or do wheelies because riding a motorcycle in itself is pretty dangerous and a little reckless =P.

Uhhh, that's like me asking why it's reckless driving to do 140 in a 65.

+1. I used to do wheelies but they were never in traffic. I know that some stunters wont even do them in the street anymore, they just go and practice at a lot. Thats what gets me tho, if ur not in the street and on a private lot wit permision from the owner, u still can get a ticket. WTF?

Let's see. On one wheel. The one that provides about 20% total braking force, zero steering force. In a position that leaves the bike vulnerable to sudden crosswinds. In general an act that decreases ability to control the bike. Gee, I too wonder why it's considered dangerous and reckless to do wheelies on public streets. But getting a ticket for doing them on private property with permission is ridiculous.

That would be like riding your dirtbike in your back yard and doing a wheelie and a cop seeing you and giving you a ticket. WTF? You cant do them in private lots?
