I think you did the right thing Hc. You didn't escalate things to a point whereyou could've gotten run off the road by himand really hurt or killedor thrown in jail for smashing your helmit intothis asshat'sface if he stopped. You made it home to ride another day. Live and learn...

RE: What should i have done??
Yes, Hc, you did the right thing by not antagonising someone you dont know from Adam .. what if they had a gun and were looking for an excuse to use it?? ... a knifing at the side of the road?? ... maybe that scenario is unlikely, but it happens, so you dont want to ever risk it!! ... you dont know them or their insanity and you dont want to know them ... the only thing I would have done different based on the fact they were showing hostility towards you is pulled over and stopped for a few moments to let them get waay ahead and out of the way.
If they were hostile and hell bent on running you off the road then in front is never the safest place :-)
Also remember, and I know its hard, try not to take it personally ... you are just another faceless biker to every other road user out there.
When youre on a bike, you never antagonise or argue ... you leave the scene, period!!
