MSF class in Hawaii is going to be cancelled. On the island that I live, it is already cancelled and there is still class available on Island of Hawaii, but it will be gone soon too. what a shame

That is a true shame. Any reason given as to why?

MSF is very beneficial to teaching basic technique & safety. Motorcycle Safety Foundation

Have to agree - a very useful course that we can all learn from (some of us older riders learn bad habits )
Pity you can't get the instructors to do it as a "private" course....?
A useful publication is "twist of the wrist" by Keith Code (California superbike school founder)
If you'd like a copy on CD I'll send you one.......

You can no longer even get your mc license here in CT without taking the msf course.

That's how it should be. I took the MSF course when I lived in Florida. We was about done with the classroom, and it started pouring rain. The instructor said "let's go" and we were like "in the rain"? "Hell yeah, this is Florida"! So we did the entire test in the rain.

haha, i'm in florida too, and thats the exact same thing that happened to us. i took the test in the rain, and i'm glad i did, i thought riding in the rain would be a lot harder than it actually was, it gave me a lot of confidence

so yum, does Hawaii make you have a permit for a certain amount of time before you take a test now? or how does it work with no MSF?

I think you have 3 months to finish the road test. Otherwise, you have to take the written test again. From what I heard from my friend, who's been riding cruiser for a while, when he went to do his road test, there were 4 guys all experienced rider. But only one passed. I am glad I got my license when I got it.
