What a Find!
OMG so stoked right now!
So today me and my wife hit the city to do some shopping, I wasn`t exactly planning to go find anything spesific, but had a little list in my head about some things to keep an eye on if I could find a good enough bargain. One of those things was a new camera to replace my old Olympus SP600UZ that got destroyed after flying off my bike in an attempt to film a ride video.I`ve been drooling over those GoPro:s you guys have there but for example the Hd Hero 3 Motorsports edition costs 349EUR (461USD) here which is waaay too much for something to be used a few times during the summer here.
So, I was strolling around this one misc stuff shop when something caught the corner of my eye.
This was standing on top of a small shelf:

The AEE MagiCam SD20. What really hit my eye was the pricetag: 129EUR! Now that`s something I could possibly afford, but what am I going to fasten the thing on?
Well, maybe to the chest harness that was sold separately for 19;90!!!
There was two versions of the cam: 720p and 1080p, that was 169e, but since the vids go on youtube it doesn`t matter cause the upload compresses them anyway.
There`s some fun little features on this thing such as a detachable display (doesn`t fit in the waterpoof case with it though) and a laser sight to aim your vids!
So, bottom line: I got my "gopro" WITH a chest strap for 149,80EUR (197USD)
NOT a bad day IMO. Though that one won`t propably take too good still photos, but one can always buy some small cam later for a fiddy or so
Just have one little thing.
Snow up to my nuts...

Well done Mattson, now looking forward to seeing some of that (snowless) countryside when you get to it.
I'm back from the outback a few days early because of three things:
1. a very close encounter with a very big 'roo at 110km/h in the LandSnoozer and
2. Two massive blowouts within 100 kms on the Strezleki (leaving no spare tyres) and
3. The temperature was laser MEASURED at Moomba at 61 degrees C in the sun (it was only a temperate 42 degrees C in the shade
)
Cheers, SB

1) You didn`t hit it did you? If not then good...
2) Ouch, that must be scary! I`ve never had a blowout, then again I`ve only ridden a proper bike (not counting 125cc:s) for what, 12tkm? I`d propbly go superman over the bars...
3) I couldn`t... It`s not even cooling to ride anymore is it? Like a hot wind on your face, I`d burn like a sausage in there...
As far as the videos go, have you seen these that I made last summer?
Marjoniemi
The Pulkkila ridge
Hm, why won`t ^ those embed? EDIT: no matter, best viewed in full screen anyway. Jeez that Marjoniemi vid took me back to the summer and the backwoods twisties... wanna ride so bad... don`t even have a snowmobile to thrash around (wouldn`t want to anyway, that`s one cold hobby...Tried it a few times, don`t like, hard to steer cause they don`t tilt...)

Hey thanks for the videos Mattson, they were great - beautiful country you have there - and the music was brilliant too!
All the points 1 to 3 happened in or around a Landcruiser mid wheel base four wheel drive, and yes we clobbered to 'roo very hard. Bull bar saved us and most of the Landcruiser - bullbar bent back to the bonnet, front right fender dented, bonnet dented, spotlights smashed, big 'roo killed outright. And the heat, you could have fried an egg on the bonnet of the car easily - probably the bacon too
Cheers, SB

Oh, well good you were in a cage then, I somehow got the idea you were there on bikes... Sad thing on the car though. And the poor `roo too... Was it your car and will the insurance cover it? how bout you, dinged yourself?
And in case you don`t know, the first song on the pulkkila video is from a `90s Swedish guitar god Yngwie Malmsteen. Wonder what he`s doing nowadays, should be still alive but haven`t heard nothing for many, many years...
BTW 2: That Pulkkila vid, is from my daily commute to work
that particular clip is shot early in the morning on my way to Lahti, if I recall right I hit the rec button @ 5:10am.

Thanks for the tip, but I habe the RAM-mount kit currently on the other cam, there were two adhesive plates that came with this camera plus I have the chest strap so I think I'll manage. Most of those ebay buys fall onto the silly shipping costs plus from shipments over 42eur including shipping fees I have to pay 23% VAT in customs so suddenly a cheap little packet aint that cheap at all...
