What a clown!
Sigh. Another Harley-bashing thread. So some of them are jerks. Most aren't. I ride one of the few sport bikes in my area, everyone else ride Harleys. And you know what, almost everyone of them waves or nods when we pass. They do have loud pipes, most of them. But the guys I'd love to have caught were a couple squids on what sounded to be 600RR's of some ilk with aftermarket pipes screaming around Havre at 1:30 in the morning. Nah, couldn't be. Sportbikers would never make noise and inconvenience other people. Nor would they pop wheelies down the middle of main street. Or blast down city streets at 70 mph. Or drag race from stoplight to stoplight.
As for posers - anyone ever see someone on a sportbike with the appropriate uniform - jacket, gloves, boots, helmet with all the logos and colors - riding under the speed limit and slowing for curves? Or just shining the bike up and riding down to the local parking area to stand around looking cool? Hmmm. Nah, wouldn't happen.
Show a little maturity and realize that there are different bikes for different folks but the same reason for riding - it's fun.
DRam: sportbike poser. Got the bike, got the clothes, got one-ince chicken strips, love riding the bike. Hmm. Maybe that should be my signature.

Hmmm....HD bashing, if you don't like it don't participate. We're talking about personal experiences that happened to us and 8 out of 10 times it's from a HD rider. I have squid bastards wrapped in leather that scream past me on I-75 every now and again but that rarely happens. Anyday I go out to ride and it's real nice out I ALWAYS have at least one situation where a HD rider is either slowing traffic or looking down his nose at me.

I still wave at ALL bikers regardless, just to give them the benefit of the doubt. Im on a one man mission to show those asshats not all of us on sportbikes are 16 year old fools. (no offense to the few responsible 16's) It's funny too cuz I've seen people do a double take when I take my helm off at a gas station or somewhere and they see I'm not a punk kid. I think it would be beneficial for all of us to read that anti-HD site for that one smart *** guy always tries to insult us in front of his boys that is setting himself up for an educated come back!

Ive got a story for ya, not real long or anything but just kinda iritated me.
Me and about 9 buddies, all on sport bikes were riding around, went to about 3-4 different towns, took about 8 hours of riding before i got home but we were on the highway heading to the last town we were visiting and Im lined up in the back of the group a ways back with my brother following behind me in the truck just incase someone dumped their bike, but Im back there busting wheelies for people on the highway and I look up the road on the other side of the median and see a guy coming the oposite direction riding a Buel. Well atleast her had a leather jacket and helmet on but I guess he was pissed because he was riding by himself or something but One by One we all raise our hands and wave as we pass by and the little **** has the ordasity to flip us off and try to tear *** away. I was setting there like what the hell because I saw him crank on it right as he flipped us off like he was scarred ****less that we were going to turn around and kick the **** out of him. Frankly I was more than willing to do that myself but no one else really cared and it wasnt any real big deal.
Not a HD story but it kinda fits anyways. Buel-HD, same thing

In my experience the Harley guys who wave at sportbikes are guys who are just completely into bikes and recognize that we're all on two wheels and it's all good, choose what you want and ride it. The guys who don't wave or flip you off are the "instant tough biker just add cash" riders who are more concerned with an image and being seen on a Harley than riding. Those guys are posers are aren't worth my time anyway.

Yeah I'm not a fan of the HD asshats. I see it as a major disrespect when someone makes the effort to wave and they intentionally don't. I've been tempted to give the finger a couple times, if they're "biker gang" types who want to start some **** that's fine... 150 lbs of fury right here

But as for the above post, i know what you mean i wave to any and everyone...harleys, cruisers, dual sports, old beaters, mopeds. Hey if you on two wheels on the open road your ok in my book. That is until you do something to alter my first impression.
These guy's are where I live in Big Bear, these *** wipe's are worse than H D riders, they cruz around town with their wife beater shirts and short's and the little teacup helmet and act all bad [:'(] see them all day long here. Kevin the guy that own's the place I hear is a nice guy
but all the other's ( not 100% of them maybe a . 50 50 mix) that ride the 30,000 + custom's around don't even give you the time of day. Ride the mtn is in june that's sponsored by Big Bear Chopper's, will see then if the rider's that come here are friendly or not

one thing to take into account, is i know some people will look straight at you and not wave on purpose, however i know like sometimes i try to wave but due to certain driving circumstances i am not able to let go of the bars for a sec. i always try to give a nod they can see, but just remember sometimes people cant actually wave at the time. oh yeah and ummm...**** the HD riders around here, they are the ones who look straight at you. and everyone who owns a busa. just as bad IMO.
