About 2 weeks ago i decided to get a camera for my bike. The SD cards and camera got here about 3 days ago, and the mount arrived yesterday. When i woke up today i installed the mount, hopped on my bike and took off. 2 minutes later it started raining. I rode for about 10 minutes then decided tohead home (wasn't trying to have my first recorded ride end in a lowside) I get home, dry off my bike, then procede to towel down my helmet. well, the helmet slips out of my hands, andfalls atleast 3 feet on to concrete.Itlandedupside down and made one hell of acracking sound.i would'nt have been pissed if this was an old helmet, but i just bought it about3 weeks ago. Now there is a nice crack on the rear right vent, and its ability to protect my skull is compromised. $175 bucks down the drain. argghhhhhhh. weak...i can think of a million worsethings that could have happened instead.

anyways,hopefully it wont rain too much here (wishful thinking sinceim inportland, OR) in the next few weeks so i can record a few good rides and post up a video.

That sucks Hungover!!! You have a choice to make, but you are deciding on whether or not you you think your brain is worth a couple hundred bucks. WEAK for sure! I would chose to get a new helmet. I am in Southern Oregon. I wish we were a little close so we could go for a ride together.

 

my thoughts exactly. I will certainly be getting a new helmet.

I definatley plan on riding all over Oregon this summer, im sure ill make a run in the southerly direction.

 

I never liked ICON gear. Everyhitn I have tried has been cheap. I like KBC personally (or Suomy, but they are EXPENSIVE!!!) I will still pick KBC over anything so far. Just a thought. It does suck though!! I cracked the front of my vents on the helmet by leaning into the wall to pic something up so dont feel to bad.

 

I own a KBC as well. Hey Hung...let me know when you head south. You have a place to stay and we can hit some spots with my bros. There are two all day rides that you would dig like CRAZY!!!

 

Arai all the way. I never, ever liked ICON. You get what you pay for. Not busting your *****.

 

How much you wanna sell that helmet for? You guys really think the integrity is jeopradized by such a small drop??

 

As much as I'd like to feel sorry for cause it's raining, it's was a high of 25 degrees F. by me.I wish I could ride in the rain right now. I'm going thru withdrawls.[:@]That sucks about your helmet though, like you said it could be worse.

I mean, looking at it, The part that cracked was an add-on piece, so it isnt the actual helmet, but the helmet still took some shock

 

Don't know about your lid, but I dropped a shoei and sent it in, they'll test it for free a give you a thumbs up or down and send it back to you. You just gotta pay shipping but it was better that a 400.00 shelf decoration. In my case, all was good and got the testing slip with it when it came back.
