I think that whole plane biz was just a bunch of shortsighted BS. Considering how much those guys make, I really don´t want them wasting time driving from point A to point B. Time is money, but again its all perception.

I realize that the money we're talking about is VERY minor but they grilled the auto company CEO's about flying in private jets when they have to worry about safety issues etc. as well.

It's the message they're sending more than the money itself.
I agree its not a HUGE raise, but just the fact about what they did to the CEO's and then trun around and stick more money in their pockets...

Ummm...All things considered, it's a pretty small drop in the bucket. but considering all else, it really is pretty minor.

2.5 million is not small thats 85 full time jobs. Im amazed how we deal in Billions of dollars now and millions are nothing to most. it has come to this with all of our corporate greed, over charging for profit.

Tell me how long will it take you to earn that much money and then say its a drop in the bucket.

2.5 million is small in relation to a 455 Billion dollar deficit (or even 162 billion from last year).

Sure it could mean 85 full time jobs...but jobs to do what? Do we just create jobs for the sake of creating jobs? The same could be said the for the yearly cost of living raises that companies give out. Someone who makes 60,000 a year could get a 6% raise. BUT if you and everyone else didn´t get a raise this year, then they could get one more hire! Hell, let's just lower EVERYONE's wages to 20K a year, because you know what, that will be beneficial to all because then we would all be equal...cause you know, that system worked for other countries, right? ****, hell, let's just make sure we have everyone have the equal share of work, too, and if someone works more, then they should be punished for taking jobs from others.

It would take me 20 years on my own (if I never got a raise and you don't count interest on what I put in savings) and less if my wifes income counts. That's not the point, I agree that it's wrong.

Yep thats the perfect attitude. Were already in the **** so lets go deeper. This is why the economy bubble has bursted, over inflated. You have to start somewhere and I have taken a hit by the slowing economy and there will be no raises for my guys sorry to say.

This is not why the economy bubble burst. It burst because the controllables weren´t controlled. It burst due to greed. Future buying in gas running up gas, lack of responsibility in lending. It burst due to good feelings. This failure was predicted 5 yrs ago, but those that brought it up were run out of town as naysayers. The economy looked good at the time, so no one cared for the downers brought by the negative speculators.

85 jobs is not going to fix the economy. It will certainly help 85 families...but who is to say who those families are? 85 people will families will be happy while millions others will be pissed as ****. Might as well let everyone be pissed!

2.5 million dollars isn´t going to fix the problem. You´d be better off giving the money to an unintelligent person, because then ALL of that money will end up back in the economy within a week (albeit wastefully). In the end, it will hardly make a dent the size of nail head on an aircraft carrier.

There is not one factor that caused this. There is not one factor that will fix it.

Want to help the economy, develop a new industry that will guarantee employment of the current work force as well as develop new opportunities. Free up credit for companies to invest in themselves. Play the lottery. Offer genicide!
