Venting!!!
I need a moment just to vent a little bit so bear with me. A friend and I go riding tonight and end up at a BBQ, so we park parallel to each other behind a couple cars and head in. The two of us and a couple other guys spend most of the time talking about our bikes...mods...gear...etc. I just bought my F4i a couple weeks ago so it's still my topic of conversation. Fast forward a few hours and we are about to head out. We get our gear on and walk out the gate and I swear I'm in the twilight zone from what I see. Both bikes are on the ground next to the curb. Another guy from the party has his foot pinned under my bike, and my friend's R6 is tipped over next to it - domino effect. He's like "help get this thing off me...my foot's stuck." Yeah...like I give a **** about his foot. When I get over to him my friend has lifted the bike off him and I inspect the damage. The right mirror has snapped off and the Yoshi exhaust I installed yesterday is dented and scratched. Yeah, tipped on it's right side 'cause the guy tried dismounting the wrong way. My friend's R6 is in worse shape. The rear turn signal punched a hole in his carbon fiber exhaust. His lower fairing is wrecked, bar end scratched, and the fall broke off his right side footpeg. All this happened in a split second of unimaginable stupidity. The guy gets on my bike without me knowing and then tries to get off the wrong way and loses it. What a dumb f*ck! And this is the same guy who spent half the night telling us how stupid we are for riding motorcycles. It's going to cost him at least a grand to replace it all. Yes, accidents happen...but usually because people don't have a clue about what they are doing. I didn't say a word as we sorted out the mess since i had nothing good to say, and I think that had a sharp stick been within reach I would have shanked his ***.
damn .. atleast he is owning up and paying for it. it still doesnt make it right but still he couldve been a jackass and said oh well and made you turn it into your insurance.
Damn, WTF is with people?
Who in their right f'n mind would get on someone elses bike w/o askin?
Its kind of different if it were someone else who rode, but come on. "What a dumb f*ck"
Glad the due says he's payin for it. Keep us posted on if he comes thru or not.

Hopefully he's got a credit card to pay for all that. Otherwise, chances are he'll ask to pay a little at a time andof course he'll fall behind. Then you'll have tochase him and nag him constantly for the money. He already sounds like a weasel to me...

Yeah he will pay for it all...he's good for it. I mean, it's a tough break that he knocked over two bikes at once, but honestly I don't feel bad for him. I don't lean on another person's car (let alone open the door and sit in the driver's seat) unless I have permission. But you know...motorcycles to some people just say "toy" rather than $6,000 machine. I've already ordered all the replacement parts and he offered to cut me a check last night. But since I hadn't ordered it then I didn't know the grand total. I will just never get the image out of my head of him pinned underneath calling for help and all I wanted to do was take that opportunity to beat the crap out of him and ask questions later.
On a related topic. My brother is giving me flak about not giving the dented exhaust to him. His philosophy is "you break, you buy." My thinking is, "I can maybe sell the thing for $150 online." He thinks I'm ripping this guy off...making him pay for a new one while I'm making money on the "old" one. Maybe if he had permission I would give him a break...but come on!
BTW...if anyone is interested in a brand new (<75 miles), slightly damaged, titanium yoshi RS-3 slip-on exhaust let me know. I still have the box, packaging, instructions, stickers, etc. It's only the canister that is damaged.

You should always kick a man while he's down...lol j/k
I disagree with your brother. It's a big inconvenience to order and wait for all the parts and have them put on (or taking the time to do it yourself). Nevermind the fact your bike will be out of commission for a bit. I'm also guessing there are some minor dings and scratches that need to be touched up so it will never look quite as good as it did before.
So you make $150 -- who cares? It's the least you deserve for all the aggravation.
Whenever I read a post like this, I get pissed. What is up with people who want to touch or sit on your personal property? These are the kinds of things that can happen. Just plain rude!!! Glad that guy is taking care of you, but what a pain in the ****. Sorry, bro!
