Question Vehicle use of Propel E85 FLEX FUEL - off topic

Hey Members.....Gas price is soaring lately & I just received and coupon for free $10 flex fuel E85 - ethanol. These suppose to be way cheaper than regular 87 octance gasoline.

Anyone familiar with this or have used this american made clean gas? I've realized my work van is FLEXFUEL. I've did some research and learn that we can mix these with regular gasoline. My only concern is that, will I get the same miles/gallon?

no, you'll get much less mileage out of e85 and overall its more expensive to run e85.

It's like dumping whiskey in your tank. Slow, hot burning stuff. You need to have an E-85 engine with a computer that will set the spark timing and have much bigger openings in the injectors. You can't use it anywhere else.

You loose power as it's not as volatile as regular fuel. Therefore you need to press harder on the peddle to get moving, burning more fuel. They seam to have the price set as to where the price/mile is the same.

For me, if I had the choice, I'd go with regular fuel for the same $/mi and have more power and not have to stop at the pump as much.

If you have a $10 coupon for free fuel, then use it in the E-85 vehicle. It's more like a $7.50 value when compared the regular fuel but I like free.
