V-Twin v. Inline Four...

My favorite thing about my bar is the people I meet. From all over. Europe, Asia, Australia, Mexico - wherever.
Last night I had an interesting discussion with an Aussie. I'm gonna let some people get they're chops in before I chime in on the subject.
I'm very interested in what people (other Americans) have to say about this. I wonder how much of our opinion is based on... bah - I'll wait

i love the sound of the inline four, but a RC51 would be SOOOOO sweet. 600-650 cc range id take a inline 4, but 1000cc's id say its more of a toss up for me 1000rr or RC51 how can you really lose either way?
In terms of bike I think it is a matter of preference.
The v twin has more torque due to the fact that it has far more piston travel and a better angle for the pistons to push the bottom end, but for that same reason throtle responce suffers. The inline 4's dont have the torque, but make up for it in immediate throtle responce low compression braking (engine braking), and higher revs.
I'm not shure about the weight difference so someone with better knolege give us a hint...
As for lines, and beuty... All bikes are beutyfull to someone. Just like all girls are beutyfull even if its only in the eyes of their parrents. LOL
NO, seriously, it is a matter of taste and personal preference so I wont get into it. Everyone has what htey like/dislike about avery bike so there is no fair comparison. I will just say that due to the fact of the engine configuration and placement, v twins can be thinner (narrower arround the middle) where the 4's tend to be wideer.

That RC-51 video reminded me of when I ran my big block vette with flexi-pipe from the header to the mufflers for a week or so and it set off car alarms when I rolled passed them in parking lots.
i love the torque of a v-twin bike and the power band. i hate having to ride above 8k rpm to get moving (i ride mostly city/twisties) but for a race track an I-4 would be better. i guess that is why i love the 929 so much
great torque from an I-4 best of both worlds
