with this citation? Got a ticket today for "unsafe speed" @ 25mph ... It's my own fault, I diserve it. Just wondering if anyone has got a ticket for this, asking the age old question how much am I going to have to pay. Traffic school here I come.

You must have been in a school zone which is usually 20mph.

I've never heard 25mph being called unsafe though.

More details please.

no more details! lol

I did a small wheelie through an intersection, he said it was the least he could site me for. I got off lucky i suppose. I'm usually pretty good about keeping the front wheel down, but was excited to be off work, ready to eat.

Not to sound like a noob (which I am) what about just going to court being polite and saying that the wheel came up on you with out you trying... its your word against his as to how much and how long the wheelie was?!

contemplated this idea, but figured it wasn't worth it. He was nice enough to give me the lower end even if the wheelie was small...

Officers know just as well as us when a wheelie was purposeful or accidental. Not to mention, telling a judge that the front wheel came up without you trying comes off as not being able to handle the motorcycle properly and could end up backfiring. So if you are going to court, tell the truth! Just tell him you were excited to get home and was a little heavy on the throttle. They'll respect that response more than making false excuses.

Unsafe Speed is usually a little higher than a speeding ticket, but not as bad as exibition driving. Is there a price on the ticket? If so, just send the ticket in by mail and you should be fine.

I thought that was the situation but didn;t want to publicly *** u me anything.

Go to court, show the judge your insurance, and apologize.

Then lower your head a little and say nothing unless asked.

You'll walk with a smaller dent in your pocket. Might even dismiss the thing with a warning.

Sounds like you got a pretty sweet break. If he would've written the ticket for the wheelie, that would've been wreckless endangerment I think, which is probably very high dollar.

Now, I can see "unsafe speed" at 25 mph on rollerblades or something

Yea Definatley swallow your pride and do the time. He prolly knew you were under control the whole time he just couldnt let you get out of there for nothing. Here in Virginia the law is actually if you put your bike on one wheel you can go to jail for like 3 nights automatic. So you got off pretty good.

Sorry you had a bad day yo.
