Underrated bands...
We have had alot of favorite band, favorite song, worst band, best riding song threads...I wanted to put a spin on that idea. There are some bands that are so awesomeand never get any attention. I wanted to share afew of my favorites who may not be mainstream, but kick ***. Share some of your favorites that nobody really pays attention to. Maybe we can help eachother to discover some really awesome music. I want to hear music that I am not aware of.I will research the stuff everybody posts, and I hope you do the same. Here are a few of the bands that I love:
King's X
Ian Moore
Jellyfish

ORIGINAL: shoortbuss
Avenged Sevenfold...
A minor bit of mainstream success, but I wouldn't call them popular by any means...still, they are keeping the solo alive...amen.

RE: Underrated bands...
The Supersuckers (probably the best genuine "rock" band touring today)
Clutch
Killswitch Engage
The Old 97's (excellent alt-country)
God Forbid (you wanna talk about keeping the solo alive? Check the album "Determination")
Trivium (again, more guitar heroics than should be allowed on one album)
Flogging Molly
The list goes on and on....
My wife likes Avenged, but the dudes voice always sounds like he's singing flat to me, I can't get past that.

RE: Underrated bands...
Yes old post, but some GREAT bands are as follows
Floater- Only known in north west, quite possibly my favorite band absolutley incredible lyrics, voice, insturmentals, every song has a moral and a quote i could live by. The doors meet pink flloyd...but better. Song to try..."Crawl into me" if you can find it, or "King rabbit"
Kings of leon- Southern alabama band couple of brothers. Once you learn the accent he uses just plain incredible fun upbeat kind of band, Song to try "Im on call" its one of their slower songs but one of my favorite
Band of Horses- Id say a mix between Third eye blind and eehhh Counting Crows maybe, awesome lyrics and moral to the song. Song to try...dont have my cd with me but its track 9 or theres a "ghost in my house"
Coheed and Cambria- People say the sound similar to Rush. Great everything band a little more intense but in a good way. Song to try ANY. its a toss up between these guys and floater for favorite band
The mars volta- extremely fast passed up beat band, great for parties or the pick me up. Song to try, "Televator"
Ben harper- Very mellow soul music Song to try "Woman in you"
Ray Lamontagne- Mix between jack johnson and a slower dave matthews song to try "Burn"
I could go on and on... Music is a huge part of my life and has gotten me through a lot in my time. So if you guys have any more id love to try em out, I've dlled everyone that has already been mentioned. Also I third RA kick *** band
