In all honesty it doesn't have to much to do with the bike. The lighter person with the better launch and shifting capabilites is going to have a way better chance at winning. But if you both suck at all of that then yeah the bike is going to play a crutial role. Oh yeah don't forget to tune your suspension for the track.

Sorry, but looks like the ZX-6R ('05) 10.38 @ 135.6 is the quickest they could get out of the 600 class. Kawi may be right.

+1 to what Triax mentioned... There is the guy around here that eats up 750's and some 1000's with an F4i in street races... He screams out of the hole while the other bikes are spinning thier wheels... keep in mind it's an inner city street not a 1/4 mile track but never the less it's pretty impressive...
