Sure it can, and here's a slider I'll throw at ya. Can you honestly say, after thinking hard about it, that the guy is actually bad at his job? I mean bad as in the company loses profit and suffers due to him performing his job duties. Our personal dislike of someone has a habit of coloring our opinions about things like that. Worse part is, that guy will likely get promoted. Business isn't about co-workers getting along, it's about monetary profit and old school nepotism. I hate to be the one to break it to you but google, apple, etc. They are all just as full of a-holes and gossip hungry pr1cks as everywhere else. Steve Jobs is actually considered by many to be an absolute tyrant and total douche and Microsofts business practices have landed them in court un-counted times due to the decisions of it's higher ups.

The world and large portions of its occupants just suck man. Find happiness with your friends, family and your own personal bubble, the things you have some control over and give up on everything else. Man, I sound so cynical. Funny part is? I'm a pretty happy guy, you just need to find that where you can, and not worry about where you can't. If most jobs were fun and happy places, they wouldn't have to pay us to go to them.
