Default True American Hero

A true American hero at least as most seen him myself included never heard of the festival until today. Would truly like to attend at some point in my life. Just would like to see how a man of integrity and a sense of righteousness lived a ordinary life and would like to hear the whole story the truth behind the legend

For the first link I suggest turning up your volume you just might hear something very interesting at least I did

Interesting, but never heard of the guy until now. Is he more of a local legend? I guess when it came to the movies and shows you would have to have been alive at the time they were made.

He is who the movie "Walking Tall" with The Rock is really about. They changed his name and alot of other stuff though. The original "Walking Tall" was made in 1973 staring Joe Don Baker and is much more accurate they use his real name and such. I sugest finding a copy and watching it (they have it on dvd) He was one tough guy and he stood up for what was right no matter what they did to him. Your right he was a true american hero.

The original movie was filmed while he was alive and he had some control over what was actually put into the movie, but after that nothing but creative license was used in is hard to imagine a man making it all the away to Marine Corps graduation and then being told sorry you have asthma especially in the timeframe when he attended it was the days of the iron fist ruled and I mean literally broken bones were a common thing at that time if you stepped out of line
