Default Toy Run, AKA... the minority report ,56k Warning

One of this things is not like the others...

Can you guess which one?

Last Saturday the local HD Dealership was hosting a toy run (ride... ok cruise) in support of one of our local foster homes

Great turnout, the final tally was 352 Bikes, and over 500 people participating.

3 of us were sportbikes ( I wasn't able to snap a picture of the GSX-R 750),

But they had a little bit of evrything

From the beautifull...

To the whimsical...

and evrything in between.

That's my friend Paul, he's the one that invited me to the ride.

And that's his 2007 Harley Street Bob, which he is slowly blacking out most of the chrome.
Very nice looking bike actually.

Lunch was provided at the foster home (more like a campus)

Overall, it was a great time.

And I saw some pretty neat bikes...

Good times...

Oh it was a blast...

Put that many V twins idling at once, and now I know why they call it rolling thunder.

...Accentuated, of course by the 13,000RPM wail of 3 crazy sportbikers that wanted to join the fun [8D]

Entrance fee was either a toy, or a $15 gift certificate from any toy store.

They actually hosted some of the older kids from the home, and had them ride on the back of some of the bikes (about 19 of the kids were able to ride, right at the front of the pack)

We had full police escort blocking the traffic lights so the whole caravan could continue uninterrupted.

Wow, I though I had it bad with our local toy run. We had a few more sport bikes but not by many. But its for a good cause. I am going to another one this Wednesday.

Here is a couple of pics from ours in Olympia WA

Is it a sign that the average sportbike rider doesn't care about disadvantage kids?

Holy cow! that is a very prjudiced point of view, and a very poor atitude to have.
Watch your own glass roof before casting those stones...
2 wheels are 2 wheels. and they are not the only ones with a bad rep.

We had a great time, and evryone was treated equally good.

I did find it odd, that even though the dealership does sell Buells, not a single one was on the rally. (they had an orange XB12R on the showroom that was absolutely gorgeous)

My guess would be that since not that many sportbikers visit Harley dealerships, they never found out about it.

Demonchild-
I have attended 3 biker rally's this year. All 3 had a huge majority of harley's. I have never had better times than in these groups. I have found that they appreciate and have respect for the sportbike community allot more than you may think. You will always run into a bad apple in any large crowd. I usually find them in large sport bike crowds more than cruiser crowds.

2 wheels and a smile is usually all you need to attend. Plus you get a chance to meet some pretty interesting people.
