Well to start I recommend that you get some friends and a ramp don't try by your self !!!I 've seen more than one go down unloading thats a good way to ruin your day !!! You can rent a little trailer from uhaul specifically designed for hauling steet bikes!!!

Get yourself some Tie Downs. At least four. Then, get your self a ATV or Motorcycle ramp.

See more pics at www.racereplicacycles.com

I did this over the summer from New York to Deals Gap aka The Dragon

Get a ramp and some tie downs as was mentioned earlier. Riding it up and down the ramp all by yourself is no problem as long as the ramp is wide enough. I've done it plenty of times in the last few months.

This is the ramp I use:

and this is where I bought it from:

The only thing I did was add non-skid tape to the rails in case I had to load/unload when it was raining.

Here's a pic of my ramp... not the back of a pickup, but basically the same thing:

Or.....you could do it the old school way. Find a small hill, like a side of a ditch or something...or maybe someones yard. put your tailgate down and back up to that hill until the tailgate gets close enough that you can roll your tire on it. Park your bike at the top of the shallow embankment and gently just roll it into the bed of your truck. Works good for 4-wheelers if you can find the right hill.

as far as tie-downs go. find yourself a Canyon Dancer strap. google it. They have little "sleeves" that go on your hand grips and straps over the bars to strap down. It'll save your stuff. Very stable. hope it helps
