Took my daughter for her first ride.
i see no problem taking your kids on the back if they are geared properly. i mean if your saying its too dangerous to let them ride with you, isnt that the whole "do as i say not as i do" thing?
Hey voodoo at least your not like the moron I work with. This fool bought one of the new Kawi Ninja 650's and has admited to riding almost 80 on the hwys here in the valley with his kid on the back. Your golden

My eleven year old has been bugging me to take her for a ride for months and months now, but I wasn't too sure about it. If there was an accident with her on, I could never live with myself. I know I take a risk everytime I get on the bike, but I haven't wanted to take her with me. She finally talked me into it. She wore all of my wife's gear, and I took all the back roads (at 25 mph) to drop her at her friend's house about five miles away from our house. She loved it! Now she is bugging me even more than before.I think I have got a second generation rider on my hands.

That is awesome Voodoo! My daughter got her first ride this year as well, after begging for a long time, she is 11 too! I am like you and just couldnt live with myself if something would happen.
As long as she knows what a squid is then she is ready to be on the back of that bike LOL!
I took my girlfriends seven year old son on his 1st ride about 2 weeks ago and now I can't go anywhere without him. As long as they have gear on I don't see a problem
