Time to take action against unfair insurance rules !

Taken from other boards:

Over in our nation's capital a bill has been introduced to correct the stupid *** HIPAA rule that recognizes while employers cannot refuse health care coverage to an employee on the basis of their participation in a recognized legal activity (motorcycling, skiing, horseback riding, snowmobiling, etc). However, benefits can be denied for injuries sustained in connection with those activities. Therefore, we are guaranteed the right to health care coverage but not any benefits
go to the AMA rapid response site to contact your legislator.

1. This is about as bad or even worse no doubt than companies trying to get where they control employees lives.
Like telling them the company doesn't hire or keep employed smokers, etc.

What I do now and forever off the clock and property of my employer is none of their damned business, nor anyone's.

My company already knows this.

I'm also a 1099 employee so I get no insurance anyway. I am my own boss.

2. This is discrimination. If this law were against a race of people, their activities, or even about company picnic volleyball,
this would get thrown out and stomped so quick...

3. Insurance companies are thieves and criminals anyway.

They just dress neater and have every crime, past, present, and future written down on paper.

I believe my aunt works at a bank and they are making everyone lose weight. The bank's health insurance company did a survey and 65% of all the employees of Texas are overweight. They are gonna refuse health service if they dont lose weight.

I don't belive 65% of all Texans are overweight. Cite the study, source, and parameters of said study.

The bank just sees it's own particular workforce as fat, so concocts some story about a study to save money on employee/overhead costs.

Just for the record...I'm 5'11...weigh 214 at the moment.

I smoke cigarrettes, about 10 a day at work, 2-3 on weekends.

You see, just the thought of my own company saying they did a "study" about smoking...

Well, makes me subconciously nervous, so I smoke more.

If they will put out a company wide memo stating no study will ever be conducted...

LMAO...

The whole point is...no one except God tells me what to do, owns me, or has any business nosing into mine or anyone's affairs.

As long as I am not a threat to the company or public in any way...MYODFB.

Currently I am without a guitar and any gear.

I sold it to help my kid's band, plus, I needed a break.

This will sound strange, or maybe not, but sometimes, if not most times, a good 6 months of totally non playing
will improve my playing and overall compositional skills.

That's why under my avatar at Jam Session it says

BMG Skulk

Osmosis...his religion

Thing is, I spent years running scales, arpeggios, up and down front and back when I was 19-25 years of age.

Sweeping, tremelo, legato, vibrato, staccato, and artificial, pinch, and natural harmonics are mastered simply by doing
and being unafraid.

Thread of some current, and unfinished older work can be seen here, in this thread:
