ticket help
so i just got my bike a couple months ago. i have my permit, not the license yet. i had the bike painted. tonight it was about 10:00 and i just got my bike back from being painted and was taking it to a friends to store it for winter. well my ex girl friends, boy friend decided that him and all his friends were trying to see how close they could get their car to my bike. after being fallowed for about ten or fifteen minutes and telling them to **** off cuz that isnt funny i guned it. about 5 seconds later and slowing down from 103mph a cop flipped on his lights. he said he could take me to jail and all that stuff with the impounding of my bike. he didnt. he just gave me a ticket for 103mph in a 30. WHAT THE HELL DO I DO. i just got a notice in the mail about taking a damn class cuz i got a 70mph in a 65 and a 55 in a 45. i dotn know whats going to happen cuz im sure ill have to go to court. this sucks *** and im not sure what is going to happen. if anyone has had this same thing happen id really like any input i could get. thanks.
Dude, if you got a 103 in a 30 and already have 2 others -- get a freakin lawyer. You're gonna need it.
Also, you might wanna think about slowing down some. If you don't, you won't have a license or a bike pretty soon.

Damn! the other two tickets, 5 and 10 over aren't too bad, we've all done it. But that 103 in a 30....they are gonna bend you right over the chair you were sitting on. You should probably get a lawyer for all 3 tickets though since they're all recent. And yeah, slow down a bit.
I'm in a Driver improvement class right now as well...soooo if you were in MD:
1-9over = 1pt
10-19over = 2pts
20-29 over = 3pts
30+ over = 5pts or 8pts (yours was probally 8 seeing as he probally put you up for reckless driving)
Either way, in MD:
8 points = revoked licence
12 points = suspended licence
You might not be in MD but you are certainly in trouble. Get a lawyer ASAP.

Im with the rest of the majority on this one...GET A LAWYER!!!! and by all means dont be suprised when they take your license.I just got out of court for 74/40 and im payin 500 bux.The 103 in a 30 thats pretty much gonna mean game over.I would maybe think about sellin that bike to pay for all your legal fees.
If you really feel like those guys were trying to hurt you, first thing I would recommend is an Ex Parte, you can file it from the courthouse in your county.
This gets it on record that you feel he/they intend you harm and for what reason. Ex girlfirends new boyfriend is plenty. You're gonna need some dirt on him to write in your statement that helps your case (i.e. he's got a fighting background, he has previous assault charges, and jail time he may have done for assaults and the severity of the assaults).
But before that, you need to know the laws in your state regarding what to do when you're being tailgated. In most cases, it is the law to pull to the side in a safe manner and let them pass. However this case is a bit different if you, "feared for your safety." Explain to them that you thought about pulling over but he was following you for "X" miles and you felt if you did pull over you would have gotten jumped for whatever reason.
You also need to express your comfort on a motorcycle and however long you've been riding - explain that you knew the risks but given your comfort on a motorcycle, you felt better going in a fast straight line without much traffic then trying to bob and weave through side streets to get them to leave you alone.
You're trying to get sympathy here. Also, though you have a previous record for speeding, it just might work in your favor. Explain that yes, you have had other speeding tickets, but they clearly show that it's not a habit of your to go 100mph, and that when you DID speed, it was 5-10 over, (i.e. it's still not right your honor, but I felt it was either get outta there or be bumped off my bike and get jumped or possibly even killed). May sound extreme, but if anyone in that courtroom has ridden or rides, they'll see where you're coming from.
They even have law offices in most cities that specialize in this stuff. Their lawyers will show up with so much evidence supporting your facts about safety that it'll make someones head spin.
Slow it down, get out your best dress shirt - and for God's sake, don't go to court with a leather jacket on and a helmet in your hand.

the other two tickets were in my car in january and i think march. this is the first one on my bike. im getting ready to call and see what is going on. the first two tickets were two points and that one was six.
so i thought id let you all know what happened. the cop didnt put wreckless down on the ticket. just 103 in a 30 speeding. so i got off with just a $184.76 ticket and of coarse i have to take those damn defensive driving classes.
