I got most everything buttoned up (front turns connected, etc...) but I decided to wait to put the fairings on until I fired her up. Well, she won't start!!!
AHHHHHH!! It acts like it wants to start... it will fire for about a second and cut off. I don't know if the plugs are fouled or carbs gummed of fuel filter clogged or vermin stuck in pipe or bad gas or what.
I just had a tune-up this spring. Ran like a champ. Maybe it's because it sat for over a month without being run? I can't check the plugs myself because my socket wrench won't fit. Holy crap those plugs are in deep! So, everything works great except for the speedo, but I can do more testing on that when/if I get it running again.
If I can't figure something out today I'm going to trailer it to the dealership tomorrow.
How'd the job interview go?

That's really cool that you guys got to hang. Sounds like you needed him more than he needed you, though. I hope I get to meet some of you guys in person someday, too!
Hey, I won't argue that point. I can do the job, but he just knows his way around stuff better, hence he is much speedier!

Coolness... sucks it won't start though. It does have enough gas, right? I know the tank was pretty empty. But the bowls in the carbs may just need to refill too. But you may want to check the wiring in the front, there should be an IGN wire to the kill switch, make sure it's all good and not one of the cut ones. The speedohealer make sure all the switches are in the down (off) position... I actually had a problem when I left your house, my speedo was reading 0 and the FI light came on. Turns out when I put my cable back in my trunk it bumped the speedohealer box and knocked a couple of the switches out of place. The last 2 switches were in the ON position so once I switches them all back down to OFF it started working again.

The interview went very well, and it looks like the job is mine They sent me do do the drug test and background check and all that good stuff... even drove me down there and everything! Sooo looks like my days here in SoFla are shortly numbered!

Of course you're welcome to come along! Or come down here, whichever is cool with me. The trip went fantastic! Check my other thread I just made for more trip details... I'll be posting lots of pics in the next couple days... got 345 of them to sort through [:-]

If there was a bad connection (i.e. if it was an electrical problem) do you think it would start at all? Starter motor turns and engine turns... it actually runs for about a second before cutting out.
I put some gas in it from my lawn mower can. Gas is about 2 weeks old. Thought it might be too old, so I put in another gallon of fresh gas.
Obviously, since dude was doing some welding around the gas tank area he ran all the fuel out of the lines. Could the carbs still have gummed up after sitting for a month with no gas in the motor?
My dealership charges $275 for a carb cleaning/synching... ugghhhh
I'm also still having some other issues. Got some correct F4i rear pegs. They mount to the frame fine, but the mounting bracket on my pipe doesn't quite line up with the mounting point on the peg.
Congrats on the job though. Now that you're so close maybe we can squeeze in a weekend Dragon trip before the season ends.
