Default Thinking about...

...bring my fairings and gas tank down to Mexico (about an hour drive) to have them custom painted. My buddy just had one of his cars painted there and to be honest they did a good job. One of my hesitations is the fact I don't wanna be kidnapped and butt raped. Gosh, Mexico is such a great resource to us middle class folk but too bad it has to be so dangerous. I think I can get a decent job done for about $100-$150...it's almost a no brainer... I want to do red/black theme but don't know which direction I want the design to go in. Thoughts are highly appreciated. here is what she looks like now, this pic makes it look clean but trust me there are tons of scuffs/scratches.

Can you pick up from a friend of mine there and bring across a couple packages and ship them to me? I will pay you for the shipping. It is not illegal or something. Yes, buttraping will be included since you asked nicely. LOL

Bikes & autos are high theft items that yield major profit for thieves across the boarder, especially near San Diego. The greater San Diego area has a very high theft rate from just vehicle theft alone, w/ a huge number of those going across the boarder.

Insurance is another issue to think about. Most insurance co's will not cover your regular policy once you cross the boarder. While there are special policies you can purchase from various entities, they certainly aren't cost effective or any guarantee of satisfaction should something actually happen.

While I can appreciate saving a buck, I wouldn't want the stress of worrying about my bike every second of the day til I got it back.

Good luck in your decision.
