RE: The Things You Can Buy
A Jamaican woman who works for me asked if I knew where she could buy a machete (I didn't want to know...well, maybe I did want to know just a little, but I didn't ask). Anyway, I stopped in HF to buy one for her, asked the counter clerk where they were, and he referred to it as "the party wrecker"...ever since then I've used that term for any large knife I own or have at work.
yeah, a totally random reply...

We may not be able to have guns in Australia, but just about every 3rd house with a backyard, either has a machete or a Cane cutter (I have both). Good for cutting branches off overgrown Gum trees, Blackberry bushes & Lantana, threatening the neighbors kids (or the neighbors over their kids), loping the heads of fish or the tips of your fingers (if your trying to lop the heads off fish while intoxicated)

I heard a loud noise by my down stairs window around 5:00 am one night. went down to inspect and turned outside lights on and saw a murky shadow in the woods. didn't think nothing of it .. thought probably a cat or something. went back to sleep. in morning i found a huge machete by that window along with the window screens having been cut to shreds. hate to think what would've happened if he got in while i was sleeping. yeah that was a random post (and true) but so was this thread ... so what? big whoop. wanna fight about it? HF is a good place for the BS tools you'll either use once or just can't screw up, like a sledge hammer, jack stands, ramps, work gloves, and so on...... OOOh, plus they sell those cool little 3D balsa models of like a T-rex, or an SE-5 biplane, my kids really like those, and they're like a buck or something.
