Therapuetic effects
I don't know about anyone else but the heart pounding excitement I used to get from riding has turned into more of a calming effect. It seems now spirited riding slows my heart beat and clears my mind, at least compared to when I first got the bike. Maybe I'm more focused and in the zone but there doesn't seem to be a rush anymore. Just a calming sensation. It almost makes me sad that going WOT in first gear in my WRX and feeling the turbo quick in puts a bigger smile on my face and a bigger thump in my chest than the bike does. Not that there's anything wrong with how I feel after riding, it actually reminds me of how I used to feel after running without the tired part. Just a clear mind and happy thoughts. Does anyone else get this feeling or is it all thrills and excitement for you guys?

yeah i mean its always exciting and enjoyable but i used to go on rides by myself late at night for the same reason. It was a good stress reliever and mentally relaxing to just be on the bike by myself with no one on the road. Id just get on and ride at like 2-3am with no specific destination. If i saw a road i havent taken before id turn onto and see where it led. Then after like an hour and a half or so id turn around and back track or go until i knew where i was and just find a way home from there. Nothings quite done the trick for me like that has.

Agreed!
I gotta agree with you on that one. I heard once from somebody that a motorcycle is like a psychiatrist couch on two wheels! Can't disagree with that hehe. It's weird because like you said, when I first got my CBR I would feel like I was on the edge. But now after a couple months of riding, I've gotten more relaxed on the throttle LOL. I guess you can say I matured haha. Every once in a while, I'll hop on the CBR and go on a cruise if I feel stressed/hectic. Not a permanent fix, but a temporary one. Eases the mind that's for sure!

I agree completely. I am often overwhelmed by the voices in my head (the "Committee"), and riding makes them S.T.F.U., because I focus on the road. Upon dismount, I often find a new perspective to the earlier challenge(s), and sometimes a solution.
