Default Texas inspection requirements?

I'm desperately trying to get my bike legal so that I can get it on the road. I bought a bike from a guy that bought it from California. So, since it's an out of state title I have to get it inspected and such. No big problem. I've got mirrors, horn, light (head and tail), blinkers, stop light, etc. Although, I've got a friend who's been riding for years saying that I need a high beam indicator. My bike has been stripped of the fairings and gauges. So I don't have one. I thought I might ask you guys if this might be a problem. I did look at the DPS website and it says this about high beam indicators; "Every new motor vehicle registered in this state after January 1, 1948, other than a motorcycle or a motor-driven cycle, which has multiple beam road lighting equipment, shall be equipped with a beam indicator (no certain color required)"

So this is kind of conflicting.. It does say "other than a motorcycle..."

I called the inspection station and the guy sounded like a moron, so I didn't want to trust what he said.

What do you think? Thanks!!

Just take your bike to the local Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, or Kawi dealer.

The guy I go to steps on the rear brake, tests the front, honks the horn, and slaps a sticker on it.

G2G.

you dont need an indicator. all you need is a working high beam in Texas

you need, a horn, high beam, 1 mirror, and the bike tires can't suck

that's it.

Simple simple here in Texas. The first time I got both my bikes inspected they didnt even ride them. Just started them and went 3 feet to test the brakes. LOL

I moved to another city and the guy rode my bike around a little. Every place is different.
