Omg 40K/year for college by the end of the 4 years you'll have a degree that costs as much as my house...hehehe
I don't care if I make a ton of money, thats not what my life is about and I don't have a college degree but I am 22 and have a good job 35k/year, a mortgage, a wife, and a baby on the way... not to mention a cbr that is plenty fun for me and in a couple of years the new bikes now will be cheaper and easier to afford. Of course I want the newest and greatest but sometimes its more fun to have something to work on, you tend to appreciate more.

Anyways I would serious think about spending that kind of money/taking out another loan when your that young. Keeping on top of your credit is very important, don't mess it up. Don't go in over your head. Besides my house there was nothing I didn't buy without having all the money first. I might be a little wierd for doing so but I think in todays age there are way too many people in debt above their heads and how are you gonna feel if you spend your life paying the debt off and realize your 65 and now what are you gonna do. Oh well I wouldn't get rediculously serious about it but I am just excited for when I pay off my house (before I turn 50) and I will not have to make mortgage or rent checks every month.

P.S. I started my retirement plan 2 years ago and by the time I'm 65 I will have about $2 million in there take that social security.....(that none of our generation will ever see a check from)

i am thrilled with my 03 f4I..its just that after i dump 2k into fixing it and wait a few years it will be worth $2,000...i will have a $6,000 bike..and it wont be worth anything.i dont want to add on anymore money..im in kind of a bad deal with my car..im having trouble selling it..it was a stupid idea on my part to buy it..it was summer, i needed a car, and i had to have that one..so i took a full time job on and bought it...stupidest idea i have ever had.. it snows every day here..and the car sits 2 inches off the ground..with lo-pro stinkin racing slicks on it..i have been driving my 1995 toyota camry which was given to my by my grandparents more thn my $14,000 car..so im trying to get rid of it so i can have a nice bike over the summer and just drive the yota...but no one wants a car that they cant ever drive

See youve already made some poor decisions and you know it, now your paying. Dont make more. Your forgetting one thing, youll own your own bike, not the bank. I no longer have a bike, and nor can I afford one. Wish I would of put money into the bank at 17 instead my car.

was it worth it..because i dont know if i want to have 20 grand to pay off before im 18[&:]
I'm a tad bit older (23) in a couple weeks. I would say that buying the car and accessories I did wasn't worth it. The bike yes it definately was. College can get pretty stressful sometimes and there's nothing like hoping on the bike and heading up to the mountains.

As for you, I'd recommend keeping your bike, maybe painting it, putting new tires on it, or just something to change it up a bit for you. All while paying it off. The greatest feeling is having the title in your hands. While you're in college you're going to want to go on trips, parties, women ...etc and you don't want to be tied down to more payments. So wait a bit.. like you're senior year (come fast) and start looking for the lastest and greatest thing!

but i went out of the way to get my stuff done..and im almost done with everything..and if i work on school throughout the summer ill be done!! maybe i could convince my parents that paying for a half of a bike would be a nice graduation present..then ill go to college in arizona or somewhere in the south

i dont know yet..im taking a trip june 18th and i am planning on taking the f4i..cause im used to it and feel comfortable taking it long distences..but maybe after that itl be time to retire her.

Go to school man... I have one more semester and I'll be done with my AA and another one and a half and I'll have my Bachelors. You have you're whole life ahead of you. Go to school, get a kick *** job, and you'll be able to afford some awesome rides, not to mention no problem staying employed. Just give yourself five more years or so. If you have to finance, you can't afford it, it's a good rule of thumb. I'm saving everything I earn right now to purchase a RC51 by the end of the year. Just my opinion... Good luck!

i was seriously considering going out and getting a loan for a ninja 250 at 16. i could afford it with no problem every month but then i figured in how long it would take to just save it would be easyer. well after i had enough for it i decied to just save for a f4i. i am very glad i dint take a loan out. i would fix it up not get a new one very few 17 year olds have bikes be glad.

Driving my buddies 06' R6 was so different from my f4i. That thing cut corners like a knife and pulled me out of the seat when I got on it. The clip ons and pegs killed me though and that was after 30 minutes.

IMO, if you can't pay for it on the spot, and don't honestly need it, I would just save my money. Why would you essentially screw yourself for the next couple years for an investment that only depreciates?
