And the US has health and fitness centers.... I've seen them, heck, I've even been a member, but I am still overweight and out of shape.

Somehow I knew that by the end of this thread it was gonna be a British people vs Bad Teeth thing...

And I'm paying almost $4.65 a gallon (93) right now in CT...

Totally off topic but...since the UK rides on the other side of the road, do you guys wave when you pass eachother? Do you hold in the clutch to do so since you have to let go of the gas?

Juliet, I see that the NHS turns 60 this year, Ive always considered it very honorable thing that the health of its citizens is a priority, we have Medicare here which is the same thing. So free medical,as long as your not in a private fund (including dentistry if you can wait long enough on the list) Elective surgery is not free though. Just that these days no one can afford the drive to the hospitals to use it.

Hmm, I think US gals are only 4 litres so, it would be only a little over $8.00 per US gallon. I guess that still isn't exactly cheap.

It's $1.32 CAN per litre here in Ontario which makes it about $5.20 USD per US gal or about 13 pounds per IMP gal.
