If you have a tank made for your bike its not even time consuming and on most bikes its a one tool job.

Alright sorry lol I was hangin out with my buddy and we were playin halo so I half assed it pretty well.

ANyways. This buddy of mine wants to start riding and he found this 03 gixxer online somewhere. Its fairly clean but has a massive dent in the gas tank and he thinks it has a hole in it. He wants to replace the stock tank and is planning on ordering one I'd say.So he asked me to see what you guys thought cause he knows I look at the forums all the time.

Sorry for the half *** job.

If he gets the tank made for his bike it is only a 1 beer job (about 15 mins).

How would this even be hard. With a donor tank from another bike all you would do is take out 4 bolts holding the tank on and pulling out the filter and pump from the bottom of the tank. Get a new seal and attach it to the new tank. Thats easy as hell.

I guess a few of you arent as mechanically inclined as the rest of us or something.

The majority of the time, it's putting the plastics back on that's more difficult.

I replaced the air filter in my 600RR in 3 minutes. It took me almost 45 minutes to take off the plastics and another hour to put them back on.

So tell him good luck. Remember to label where all the bolts for the farings are supposed to go. Putting them in one big pile sucks. (reason putting plastics back on takes forever.)
