So I was at the local cookout last night w/ some friends and noticed a guy pulling up in a really nice blue R1. He parked and got in line behind me and we chatted a bit. The bike was bone stock, but still looked and sounded great. About 5 minutes into our conversation a group of kids backing out of there parking spot hit his bike and knocked it over. The owner was very cool about the whole situation and started casually walking over to his bike. The kids noticed him coming and decided to take off. I saw them leaving and quickly ran around the other side to stop them. Several other kids saw what happened and did the same. Turned out that about 6 guys in the group owned bikes and were very pissed off about what they saw happened. We all confronted him and asked him wtf he thought he was doing. It was really messed up that they hit his bike and tried to take off, but at the same time it was nice to see some fellow riders helping eachother out. It's comforting know that there are a few extra people out there in the world that are willing to lend a helping hand. Just thought i'd share.

Just when you think there is no one good left, a few people shine through. So what ended up happening?

Oh, ha yeah kinda forgot the ending. He got the guys insurance info and left. The bike has some scratches but nothing major.

 

That's what I love about the motorcyclecommunity. We all would have done the same for a fellow rider! Happy ending...yeah.

I completely agree. I've ran into rider's I've never seen in my life yet we get along after a couple mins. That dude sounds like a very patient guy, I think I would have ran to the guy and knocked him off his bike andthen askhim"how bout them apples beeeeeach?"[sm=chairshot.gif] ok, maybe not, but I would have been pissed[sm=bicker.gif]
