Default Stupid Inspection Regs

Took the bike in to get front and rear tires put on, and just for giggles figured Id have them put an inspection sticker on it so I could be 100% legal for once. Being a 2007 CBR1000rr, and doing most of the maintenance myself, I figured it would pass no problem. Get a call after dropping it off,

"Hi, do you have a passenger seat strap?"
"No, Ive never heard of that."
"Oh. Well you need one for inspection."

I looked into it, and sure enough, in the bowels of the inspection code it is listed that you must have a passenger seat strap if the bike is capable of carrying more than one person. How incredibly stupid.. and a waste of $30.

Thanks again Pennsylvania, I hate you.

I never understood what the strap is actually for. I never notice mine.

Yep, your bike has to have grab rails or a seat strap.

You must have found one hardcore shop to stick it to you on a seat strap, though. That sucks.

Thank God we don't have inspections here. I don't own I anything that would pass. Oddly enough the closest would probably be the oldest (66 chevelle) due to its age actually.

Yeah, I can't even see how to use that strap! The rider's *** goes where the strap is!

I always have to go to this one place to pass mine. But he made me put the huge safety check sticker under my license plate.

Is this the strap you are talking about?
