Default Storing a bike... without a garage..

I found a cbr600f3 in great condition and want to buy it.. it would be my first bike, I'm taking the MSF in April. Problem is, my house doesn't have a garage, so I don't know how to store it? Could I store it in the basement (or basement can get pretty damp though). Obviously it'd be covered, but other than that I have no idea.

+1 for the living room if you can get away with it, otherwise a good quality breathable cover is a neccessity keep wet out and allows moisture out from inside to.

keep it in the basement and put painters desiccant (check with you local paint suppliers) and a dehumidifier beside it.

If you can't find climatized storage, put it in your room for sure.

Hmm my room's upstairs, doubt I could get it up there and once I did I doubt the floor could hold 400 lbs of dead weight. Plus my room doesn't have enough room for furniture + motorcycle. My friend MIGHT let me store it at his house, but I dunno.

I was going to say the rental place also. Find someone that has one and share or get someone else with a bike to share with.

Anyone know how much it is to rent one of those for 6 months or so? I don't exactly have a lot of money to throw around.

I used one once when moving and it was close to $100 a month. That's a big one that would let you store about 5 or 6 bikes. So if you have friends... split it. I'd also look for one that is climate control.
