Surprisingly, this happens more often than people think. I remember seeing one ATM theft on those cop shows, probably Most Shocking, but two people, a guy and a girl walked into a convenient store in the middle of the day, tell the cashier they are there to service the machine, go over to it, say its got to go and dolly the thing out. They were busted later, but thats slick as hell if you ask me.

Kind of related... I went to get some gas yesterday, grabbed a RedBull and put it right in my jacket pocket. Paid for a gallon of gas and walked outside, lol. Only after I got back on my bike did I make sure it was still there and then it donned on me... I'm a thief! haha, went back in and paid 'em for it.

As for the ATM thing, yeah there was a meth head couple going around KC doing the same damn thing. Ballzy as all hell.

The best one I heard of was here in my city. A guy with serious welding/painting skills built his own ATM with a screen. The LCD wasn't functional but it simply had a piece of paper on it saying, "Withdraw out of service, deposits still accepted."

You guessed it, 3 days that thing sat there and somehow that SOB got it out of there too. He was only caught a couple of years later and gave himself up on it to reduce sentencing for drug charges.

If only that talent had been put to use for the good.

 

I like the atm's that are in the tiny glass buildings. There's always bullets holes in them.

 

Remove your plate first or put on another one... But I guess if they had any brains they would have a job and not resort to that.

I have seen vids of people putting chains on em and yanking them out of the wall.

 

Seems like a capable forklift oprerator.

Seriously though, there is some real talent going to waste out there! Ever see what inmates make out of cigarette packages/soap/toilet paper... and sometimes all at once?

There are some VERY badass soap sculptures of sportbikes and choppers, Harleys, everything. They use the foil from the smokes for spokes and wheels, forks, frame - all kinds of stuff and it's VERY good. It's too bad...

Can't find any pics of the soap sculptures either, guess they don't have the best PR in the US Penal institutions...
