Default Split Second

hi all
Just want to share my, I'm so thankful to be alive story. Last Dec 14, not so long ago I was waiting at the lights on a major intersection. It was 10:30 at night, the roads where fairly quiet. Lights still red and a vehicle slows and stops behind me. Bike stalls. The lights go green. I try to start the engine one more time but sounded like it was going to go flat. Guy behind me beeps, I signal him to come around my left side. Right at that moment I hear the sound of a fast traveling vehicle skidding (27 meters ) heading our way. The guy behind me still hadn't started to move yet, Instinctively I begin to alight the bike on the right side , lifting my left leg over the rear of the bike, right hand holding right handlebar, then just as my left leg just touches the ground, booom! my bike is reaped out of my right hand and flung to the middle of the road, original car behind me projectiled 10 meters over on the wrong side of the road, missing me by millimeters, the speeding car came to a at full stop where my bike was. the force was so strong the car behind me driver seat snapped clean of hinges. bike is pushed against my right leg before it gets flung across the intersection and apparently according to the witness I did a pirouette in the air then hit the ground. he was about to say the our father, then he saw me come up like terminator from the fire. hahaha. My dear F2 93 was a write off but I came out with very minor injuries other than what could have been horrific and fatal.I feel very blessed. A week after, I stumble across a rare opportunity, cheap F3 97 in remarkably good condition bar the clutch and a crank shaft rubber seal. both issues fixed now working on it last few weeks. I love these CBR F's. love life!

Lucky lucky.

Guess it was your bike's day to die, but not yours.... Good thing!

New bike looks great. I like the yellow better.

Damn, that's a story...

Glad you're still here to tell the tale. Good instincts BTW.

Glad to hear you made it through. Any word on how the person blocking for you came out of it? And the last-in-line who drove into everyone - alcohol? cell phone?

the person blocking was fine and he already has a new car. when I thanked him he said he really didn't get a chance to react or do anything for me. he thought he had squashed me too. I haven't done any claiming or chasing the lady at fault yet. not sure I will now?? just be happy to only have minor injuries.

Your insurance company will most likely want to talk to her though, as will the people in blue (if that's the uniform color in your neck of the woods.)
