Sorry to hear that man. I know how you feel. Mine was not knocked over but stared at by a bunch of kids straight out of basic, I was TDY for training. They have not seen a vehicle, let alone driven onein at least 6-8 weeks. It did not help that it was a Friday and the majority of them had been drinking already. I was wishing I had an alarm.

Anyways, sorry to hear about your misfortune. Keep your head up.

 

I wouldn't think that would be a problem if any oil snuck past the rings it'll still have a good 48 hours since it was turned back upright to seep(sp?) back down.... at least i hope it wouldnt be a problem

 

If that is a concern, couldn't you just pull the plugs and crank it to make sure the cylinders are clear?

 

nah thinking about it it should be fine... even if it sat sideways for weeks if the rings can hold a couple hundred pounds of pressure i couldnt imagine any oil creeping into the cylinders

 

Yeah, if it struggles at all while cranking, stop, pull the plugs, and start suckin'. Seen it happen to a few guys in the F4i threads where their bikes fell and stayed overnite. Most of them can get them started, but i'm sure you don't want to fry your starter.

 

Wouldn't surprised me if it wasn't a accident. I can't tell you how many times I've come out of my 2nd job (I work at a bowling alley on the side) and seen people leaning against my bike, or the more usual group a girls standing around my bike and usually one of the sitting on it. I don't care if they are hot I get pissed

not talking about gas. talking about oil. oil can be dumped into the airbox from the breather tube, so i've heard. [&:]

it's happened to a few of our f4i's sitting on their side overnite.

 

Speak of the devil, I went to my bowling alley to hang for a bit with my gf and sure enough I walk by the front door and some guy was standing over my bike, I twitched a little lol, and he pretended he was going to throw his leg over my bike, I got ready to grab the baseball bat and go scare some sense into the idiot. Luckly for him he walked away. I swear people have no respect for other peoples stuff

 

I HATE people who sit on my bike. I'll take the approach of, one warning to get the f*** off my bike, 2nd I will assume you are attempting to steal my vehicle and FORCIBLY put you down.

I'll explain my logic as this. I dont sit in your car and pretend its mine, if I did, you would assume I am attempting to steal your vehicle, now reverse the role. I think my position makes perfect sense. children get a little mercy, parents who dont care get NONE.
