Default So who's used "Chantix" and actually Quit?

Yesterday my Girlfriend finally started on something to help her quit smoking. She has complained a little here and there about how she needs something to help her quit and this "Chantix" is supposed to be the godsent to help people quit. I myself have never smoked a cig in my life and am not about to live the rest of my life paying for her to. To each is his own, but I just don't see the point and as of the first of this year (2008), there is an additional $1.25 tax added to each pack of smokes.

So back on topic, it seems that this drug is pretty common and most say that it works great. Anyone have some input on this "Chantix"

Have you or someone you know tried it and quit smoking...or just wasted $110+ and is still smoking?

Well I'm glad to hear that so many of ya are going to be trying this first hand. Kinda funny, after talking with the pharmacist, he mentioned that it worked for him...until he started smoking again after 3 months. Right next to him, the cashier mentioned that it worked great for her husband and only needed to use the drug for a single month.

Well, in any case, I hope that this works for my GF as well as for everyone else.

I look forward to some more "real life case studies"

i dont know about chantix, but i have heard from several people that have successfully quit after having the laser surgery. I just quit cold turkey a few days ago myself but was not a real heavy smoker to need anything like that (only 4 or 5 cigs a day). Good luck to her

she's the key not chantix.
+1 to that... there's no stronger medicine than will power... the pill doesn't make you wanna stop smoking, it curbs your appetite for nicotine... if she doesn't wanna quit then it won't work
