Default So who's going do it?

Anyone watch Letterman? Just saw he had the, "CEO of ExxonMobil" on for a short plug.

The CEO says that through a partnership with David Letterman and ExxonMobil, he claims that this weekend, Friday through Monday, just go to any ExxonMobil station and receive up to 20 gallons of gasoline absolutely free if you mention, "This tanks on Dave." You're also supposed to get a heat shade for your car with an Exxon emblem and a mug shot of Letterman on the front.

There was no disclaimer at any point, lol. Paul Shaffer only looked at Letterman after the CEO walked off and said, "Was that really the CEO of ExxonMobil? Dave shrugged and said, "that's what it says here."

So, I wonder if someone was really wanting to be a PITA, what would happen? Surely it would cause a scene...

You think we can all make national news if we, at a pre-determined time, across the country, went to the gas station and demanded our 20 gallons since, "This tanks on Dave!"

We should do it, **** you guys, I'm gonna do it.

sounds to good to be true, I mean how would they account for everyone? While I hate the uber profits of the oil companies and OPEC, I believe our own government profits more on the price of gas as opposed to the oil execs....In short, exclude the cost of crude per gallon, shipping and all that, ad in the oil exec profit and opecs cut, then add the governments tax....guess which one comes out ahead?

I think it was just Letterman up to some old antics. Getting people to visit these places demanding free, advertised gasoline, lol.

But like I said, no where in the bit did it have a disclaimer and I don't know what the hell the CEO looks like...

+1

This is the most well thought out phrase to ever make it into the hallowed threads of CBRF.
