I watched Super Bikes last night and the host, Jason Britton, was watching a few new stunters perform. He told them to WEAR THERE GEAR! He must have said it four or five times over the course of a one minute segment.

Ooof.

I looped a bike in air over a set of doubles once. I did a half-backflip. It happened so fast I didn't even have time to bail off. It was one of my worst crashes. It was like being dropped upside down on your bike from the second floor. I was in full motocross gear though, so beyond having my bell rung, the only real pain was the embarassment of doing it in front of an arenacross crowd. I puttered to dead last in the main that night...and managed to flip the bike on top of me while just trying to negotiate a deep rutted turn. I hate arenacross.

Sometimes I think that any motorcyclist who hasn't had a big crash really understands his motorcycle though. I'm kinda proud of my crash history. I've been meaning to start a thread about crash stories. Check "Off Topic" ...let's trade some bench stories.
