So I was poking around the for Sale section today, and I found my bike.

Weird... he never mentioned the giant gaping crack in the crankcase that was epoxied and bathroom caulked over to keep oil in until he sold it.

Perhaps I should leave the lower crankcase on his driveway.

Anyways, over a thousand dollars later and its almost ready to ride again.
I'll have pictures in a week or 2. Its so awesome now. (Black with chrome original replica decals sunk into many layers of clear.)

Edit: Oh yeh, and I bought it off of him for $2,000, I wonder why he said he traded it in for $1,400.

 

His last post says 'I traded her in............. Only got $1400 but meh no one came thru.....'

Yeah, thats what's weird. I guarantee you that is my bike too, had the chicago performance stickers and all.

And funny how he never showed pictures of the left side (side with cracked case and demolished fairings)

Did the date of his last post coincide with the date of your purchase. Maybe he was about to trade it in (already asked how much they were going to give him on trade) and then you came along.
Good to hear youve got the bike nearly complete. Why didnt you try to give a little less cash when you saw the bike in person?

 

Yes, date is almost exactly when I got it. As far as cash goes, I wanted it and didn't know the engine was fubar. I thought "well 2k plus maybe 500 for a brand new fairing set, and i'm in buisness"
Well brand new fairing set never happened since 685 went for an engine. Ah well, it guess it has "character" now. When i take my fairings off to do something I'll see like 5 different peices of fairing fiberglassed together.

 

Bike sounds like itsbeen through a lot.
