Look at the money he had to spend to go that fast.

That is not all the money he spent. That was just the first go around. He probably doubled that in total cost. They guy has more money than brains... He's offered to sell it to me a couple times for about 1/4 of what he has spent. Even if I made enough to afford it, I doubt I would buy it. Like the article says, the thing is too modified. It is finicky.

On a side note, the power that thing produces is awesome.

Well i got smoked by an m5 today, are they that fast or am I that slow? I had him for a while but he pulled away and was gone like the wind. We had a lot of open highway. I maybe could have caught up but i shut it down at about 130 or so. So whats up was it him or me?

You wouldn't have caught up.

The 600RR isn't a top-speed bike but it's get to it's top-speed quickly.

I would have smoked you in my VW though. Bone stock 'cept for teh K&N cold-air intake... puttin' about 385hp's on the ground... no big deal.

LMAO @ the M5 forum-making-fun-thingy...

i think you're right cbrcf. it was not from a stop. No excuses though. maybe need more practice and ps keep that kid on the big wheel the hell away from me, he kinda freaks me out...
From a roll the M5 is a likely candidate to win. Our bikes are great from a launch but around 65+mph roll it could be anyone's race.

I had once on the open highway and its about to get dark (not really sure it was a M5 but it's a bmw). That freak was on my tail and I was way above 240km/h. I was flabbergasted..

depends on the year. Was it a new m5, or an older e34 or e39?
Anyways the new ones are ridiculous. My supercharged m3 (e36) with internal mods plus other goodies beats them, and my m3 keeps up to bikes on the hwy no prob. He must of had some suttle mods that you did not know about, because a bike will still beat one on the hwy. From a stand still he has no chance either.

You guys are quite aware that it's the CBR's ball game to about 110mph... right? Maybe even a bit less.

Your 600RR's will never win a top-speed highway race against any "fast" car... never.

Nope. With comparable drivers you're going to get smoked. You may get them off the line and to about 60-80mph but you're running out of engine above 110mph. Plus you've got nothing in 6th gear once you're there.

Sorry to break it to you guys, we don't have the fastest things on the streets, just the funnest. The roll-on races on public street sthat everyone seems to beef their egos up with is hardly a racing environment to ascertain any real information about what you or your bike i capable of.

To be honest, threads like these gimmie the hee-bee-jee-bees. Every time I see something like this I think about the kid in the 954 forum last year...

RIP.

Be carefull out there, folks!
