Default Smelly Plumbing Vent

I've noticed a strong sewage smell while out and about in my yard for a while now but could never figure out what it was. Last week I had to fix some facia on my roof and got close to the vent from my toilet. I figured out what the smell was. My toilet works fine. The vent seems to be cast iron (my house was built in 1905). How do i make the smell go away?

I will not put plumbing company links in my posts!

lol strange u ask this question i work for a plumbing designer, ill give you my best guesses and ask my boss later...

1) ur septic is full
2) a animal got into ur vent and died
3) the standards for plumbing were much different in 1905 so perhaps ur toilet was incorrectly vented

His first post is about a toilet vent, and he has links in signature to a plumbing companies website.

Yep, he snuck it in late on us. No more linky linky now, tho!

And to think that the nice folks here at CBRF tried to help him out.
