HondaKidF1, thanks for the pointer but I already knew how to get a pic in there, and DonCollins, the important part I want to know is *how* people make their own... I could make one in paint but I want one with the shimmering overlaid stuff that looks cool and ethereal...

I guess i'll just pm some of the people that have them, thanks for your responses all the same, Cheers!

Most folks will tell you Photoshop (cuz it is da bomb) but also requires a significant investment or warez.
For most graphic newbies who need a powerful image editor, I recommend The Gimp.

I use photoshop or Fireworks. But if you are looking for a free program, you can use Photoplus 6 which is a free program that works similar to photoshop with layers and web optomization.

I have several other grapic stuff on my website http://www.askbj.com/

If you are useing Photplus 6 and want to save as a jpg, you need to use the export, or exprot preview funktion. Photoshop and fireworks work in a similar way.

When exporting, you do this to optomize your picture, in other words make it as small as possible with out losing quality. Here is a lesson i made up on optomizing. http://www.askbj.com/sessions/webgra...optimizing.htm
