So im at work doing my hazard charts. Ive got icing so im forecasting the old school way first. I use Metoegrams, skew-ts,relative humidity, freezing levels to locate areas of icing. I then draw the areas and submit it. I have light rime from 8k-12k. Another forecaster to the north has light rime from 10k-18k.

My supervisor comes up and says why dont i match them and i explain my reasoning. He told me to check with the model since i didnt use it(its normally not trustworthy and all it does is the same steps i do). So i check the model and who would guess that I WAS RIGHT! Instead of him saying okay well then keep your heights since you can reasonably backup your forecast and let the other guy be wrong NO. Instead he tells me well go ahead and still match their heights. SERIOUSLY?!

I take 80 credit hours of meterology over a 8 month period ontop of another 2-3 months on hand trainings to broadbrush an area and be wrong with the amount of icing there is and its "Okay"? Total BS and this is why weather people get some much flak.

Owell ill just broadbrush and copy and paste the model from now on.
