I've been trying it for about 4-5 months now and I'm really impressed on how well it works. I'm going to do a bit more research thought.
I also don't do it between 1st and 2nd. Down shifting also works but for some reason I don't like doing it...

The clutchless 1-2 is so extremely rough I always clutch it, and usually 2-3 too because that seems kinda jerky, but then I'll usually clutchless shift through the rest. Although lately I've been using the clutch alot for some reason.

i've never intentionally shifted from 1st to 2nd without the clutch, but the one time i did it without thinking, i ended up in neutral. i almost always shift without the clutch. just put some preload on the shifter, let off the throttle (just a hair) and get back on immediately, and you'll (usually) find yourself in the next gear. if it doesn't shift, you either didn't work the throttle right or didn't have enough preload on the shifter. and from what i've heard and read, it's not bad for your transmission, and may actually (in some cases) be better than using the clutch.

i usually shift without the clutch through all the gears. I don't do it in the 1-2 jump if i am in a hurry, but if i am putting around town i do it. You just got to get higher in the rpm range in first to make the jump to second and remember that you got to click up a little harder. I have driven semi's for 7 years and we rarely use the clutch. Up or down. Mostly just to stop and to backup. But it's easier in a rig. the rpm range is 0-3000, instead of 0-15000.
