i was watching super bikes the other night and the guy was talking about "power shifting". i think that is what he called it. its when you up shift without the clutch. is this good for a bike??? i was curious. i tried it riding and it didnt feel any different but i want to know if there is actually anything that could happen to the bike internally. thanks

it doesnt hurt the bike, probly better for it as a matter of fact... i think the next performance mod i buy will be a quick shifter like this http://ema-usa.com/misc/old/TL/misc_...ss6_2004.shtml o man imagine shifting without gettin of the throttle!!!!

I'm with harebreed....I thought powershifting was shifting without letting off the throttle. Then again, maybe the ******** on TV just renamed clutchless upshifting just like they call 50cent a 'gangsta' and Carmine Gallante a 'gangster'.

thanks for the info guys. i was scared to try it at first because i didnt want to mess something up in my bike. i like the feel of it better then clutching. and i figured you would have to do it downshifting.

I upshift without the clutch (hell, I used to downshift that way too all the time) as well. I really still don't thinkit is bad for the bike to do either one. People have been doing both for YEARS. Though, I believe that you might have to domaintenance a little more frequently. Just my $.02

It don't hurt anything, It's not good to do it from 1st to 2nd, to much of a jump. I don't use my clutch very much anymore.
