Seriously what is with chicks & handbags?

Im browsing through my wifes very limited xmas list and it has a $500 purse! :icon_really:

WTF? Why in the hell would anyone want this thing at that price? I mean it doesnt even look unique or anything. Just a black leather bag! Good god! Is there any scientific formula to explain why women want these lame items? I mean okay she can put stuff it in and wear it over her shoulder big whoop. If i spent 500 on a nice leather jacket i could atleast wear it out when its cold, itll save my skin in a crash, and i can store my wallet in it. I guess i just dont get it.
The bag

Thats an ugly bag if you ask me...

And women say the same thing about our video games for example... why spend $300 on a system then $60 on a stupid game...

Or why we are so obsessed with bikes/riding.

A jacket might not be the best example because some people say you cant put a price on safety :icon_shrug:

This is true. But for example i bought my xbox 360 and 3 games. total of $300. This then keeps me entertained during my downtime. about 20-30 hours a month. So instead of going out to entertain myself i can rely on my xbox. There for saving me money. lol I mean i still go Downtown firday & saturday night for drinks with friends but during the week im not spending much.

Also my bike is a form of transportation and fun so im killing 2 birds with 1 stone. But I guess she could come up with some excuses as to how her purse will save her time or some crap. lol

It's because women are materialistic for the most part. If it's shiny or looks nice and says "Hey I'm just a little better than you." Then they need it. Men tend to be the opposite. Not always but as an example I still have pairs of jeans and shirts that I wear to work that I got when I was probably 14. I'm 21 now so you see how much I care about clothing haha.

My wife kinda laughed when I showed her this post. She's kinda with you
CBRfanatic93. She did say, she could see droping a $100 bucks on a good purse
but the rest is status. This is why I love her, very much the practical one. ;-)

I think, it's that whole passive-aggresive way women sort out their pecking order.
We, on the other hand, use tools and internal combustion to do the same thing, lol.

I dunno; my friend just bought a $1,000 purse. Unless it's a bag of holding, nothing justifies that price.

michael kors is an expensive brand, that could be a reason why that specific one is a lot of money for an ugly bag

I don’t think anyone will every have a good answer as to why someone needs a $500 bag. My gf would rather have 6, $50 bags then one bag.
Lucky me…. Or perhaps not…..:icon_really:
