ah hell - here it is anyway...

i'll do the work for you, you can work backwards to find out what the forumla was :-D

47-36 = 11
331 + (.6*20) = 343
(343 / (343 - 11)) * 600 = (343 / (332)) * 600 = 1.0331325 * 600 = 619.8795

not sure where EXACTLY the conversion is different to get to 622 whatever, probably my formula to get the speed of sound, but whatever. I'm still close enough to give me partial credit which is all you need to gradjiminate kollege :-D

Freaken teacher straight out told us he wouldnt teach us this chapter. But at least it wont be on the final.
I hate guys like this...one of my professors i have says "well you guys are responsible for this" and doesnt teach us it at all. It IS on the tests..Hes such a dick. When he does teach, he sucks *** at it, and gets most of the example problems he does wrong...

If there was one person in this world i could shoot it would be him.
90% of my professors were like that.

let google be your best friend...

What formula are you using where you can just straightout look at it and know it wasn't 588.
like red said - don't just know how to plug in the numbers, anybody can do that - get an understanding of what should really be happening. Sound waves are going TOWARDS each other so the frequency is going to increase (like he said, they are getting smushed) so you know it has to be more than 600, which is what the original frequency was.

I think your messing up at using relative speed. They are moving towards each other so the relative speed would be 83.

Edit: IDK anyways. The formulas I have dont use relative speed in the first place.

wait they are moving towards eachother..so doesnt that mean you add velocities instead of subtract? relative to the ambulance, the other is moving at that cars speed plus its speed. right?[&:]
