While on my way home from hunting camp last night I noticed a truck that was pulling a camper 2 cars ahead of me. He started swearving very bad, crossed double yellow several times into oncoming traffic forcing them off the road. I watched for a few more minutes and it only got worse, going over hills on wrong side, and nearly hitting guard rails. I decided to phone it in. Within 2 minutes we had a cruiser behind him. He drove str8 for about 1 min then started swerving again. Po Po turned flashers on and he still didnt stop. Po Po had to pull up beside him to get him to stop. I circled the block and drove by to find him getting a sobriety test(which he failed I assume).

Did I do the right thing? I just kept thinking what if someone was killed by this guy and I didnt do anthing to prevent it.
I dont like getting people in trouble but this had to be done, right?

 

hell yeah you did the right thing! nothing wrong with drinking, but driving drunk is just plain stupid. i spent 2 months in the hospital back in 2001 because of a drunk driver...and the doctors said that i was lucky. i would have called it in also. [sm=groupwave.gif]

 

+1 for calling it in the guy could have taken a innocent persons life... he could have hit a biker during his wild lane changing and what not.. you deff did the right thing

 

the guy was driving quite unsafely, I think you did the right thing. you probably saved his life, and more than likely a lot of other peoples too.

just the way you describe it I would have stopped him too.

 

Yeah you did the right thing. My roommate called the cops on this guy where we live. She actually has to go to court and testify against him tough.

 

It was an easy call and the right thing to do. If a guy was breaking into a house, you'd call the cops. Similar deal here in my opinion.
