i tried this some time ago, and didnt get many replies.........*shrugs shoulders*........second time's a charm :D

lets see some memories here, lol. post up some pics/stories about your battle wounds. not broken bones (unless the scar/broken bone went "hand in hand").

i got mine while stunting my '05 YFZ450 quad back in '05. i was doing a seat stander, and went to jump to a sitdown wheelie (in 2nd or 3rd gear...on asphalt) and for some damn reason i went to the left of the seat. now i stunted that quad like no ones buisiness and had a wide variety of things i could do on it. i did that stunt all the time but for some damn reason i went to the left of the seat. so as i slid down onto/past the footpegs i remember saying to myself really loud *SHIIIIT*. My initial reaction was to hold onto the bars....that was my mistake. as i slid down and held the bars, it turned the wheels. so as the front touched the ground, wheels turned......the quad immideatly flipped over. i dont remember anything at that point. i remember getting up off the ground, knowing my hand hurt (not really hurt, but a burning feeling) but thought nothing of it. i looked to my right and saw my quad knotted up, and heard a buddy to my left say "holy ****, you alright?". at that point i noticed blood squirting up in my line of vision.....looked down and saw this (pic below). i swear it was the wiederst thing......i never really HURT. it burned quite a bit...but there wasnt any tremendous pain. i was shocked since i was looking at my tendons!!!! i ended up tearing through the muscle. they put ....... idk how many stitches in my muscle, and over 20 on the outside. now im left w/ a nice scar on my left arm.

oh, and it was my rear grab bar on my quad that did the damage. i 12'd it all the time and the bar was filed into a damn razor......literaly.

IF YOU DONT LIKE BLOOD.............DONT SCROLL DOWN!

RE: Scars

Well, I have mine on my chest.

now I have thisn nice Y shaped scar in my chest.
https://cbrforum.com/m_327354/tm.htm
Slipped on sand taking the on ramp to the freeway. Wasn't really paying atention, and it almost cost me my life. Hit the median barrier before I even hit the floor, and stopped dead cold on it. It had been crashed before so it was broken and not repaired so the broken part went into my chest. My shift mesh jacket stoped it from running me all the way throgh. Ended with 5 broken ribs, Colapsed lung, Pelvic ematoma, Bruised face, cut hand, cut nee, slight tear on my ACL.

Needless to say, gear rocks!! and saves lifes.

RE: Scars

Did this on a BMX bike jumping a dirtbike jump. Busted my spleen completely in half and literally bled eternally for 8hours. Radiologist thought my spleen was just perfurated. When the next radiologist came in he saw it was busted in half then they rushed me into surgery and remoed my spleen. I spent 6days in the Hospital. 3days in the ICU completely doped up on Morphine and Demoral. And 3 more days in a regular room on demoral. I was told I was pretty close to death a few times. 1 from nearly bleeding to death. The other from them having trouble stabilizing my heart in Post-op. And then from a bad bad fever while in the ICU.

I had to take Loritabs for 2months straight before I could get off of them. I also lost 30lbs in 6days from being on nothing but IV nutrition for that time.

Well, I've posted about my cracked up arms before, so here's the short version. Messed around on my F3 on a counrty backroad, lowsided into a ditch, held on the wholetime and when the bike stopped on a rock I went over the front and twisted/broke both my arms and disslocated both wrists.

The present scar looks a lot like Jaynd's...except they're straight and has marks from 18 staples

Going 55mph at night around a blind corner on a secluded back road and a giant black cat jumps out, I highside over the front end and land right on my knee. When they cleaned it up, you could see the kneecap and all...

In high school i took a huge jump on my dirtbike, came down wrong, the force of hitting the ground double compound fractured my right Femur. It was hanging out of my leg. All the scars aren't visable anymore because of leg hair, but i still have one you can see on my butt cheek where they put the metal rod in through. I'll save you all from seeing my butt though.

I have a big scar on my stomach from surgery when I was an infant, but that doesn't really count. I've only mamed myself once due to my own fault, diving in a pool. Only six staples, but they was in my skull. My neck hurt more than anything.

Right after it happened:

And after the shot in the wound, scrubbing, and staples:

I have a scar on my chin, but it is not from riding. I was playing one New Years Eve, and I got ****ty drunk. At the end of the night, I was on my knees putting my effects pedals and cords away in my gig bag, when I passed out and fell flat on my face off the stage (I was told later...I never remembered what happened). I woke up a few seconds later, but had busted my chin wide open and a flap of skin was hanging off my chin. I had to get 11 or 12 stitches. Some New Years...[&:]

...wow.
i once remember when i cut my right hand the pinky with a knife somehow..not even sure how it happened but it cut to the outter bone and a bit in...cut the tendant to the pinky..not much use to the pinky...it doesnt bend the secound part of the knukle anyways..
the funny thing was what my mom said when i told her about it...
"Its nothing dont even worry about it..."
"Its not that bad.."
i then asked her if she could get me a finger brace..
she got me one..
made of cloth..it didnt hold it in place and so never healed correctly. no stiches..either.

lol also have another one that im nto srue how i got it but i did..
its rght above my eye...got close to loosing it lol. riding a bike and somehow i fliped and still nto srue how icut it...kinda backed out for about 10 secs all i remember is coming to and friends were around me..bleeding all over the place.

Its kinda funny how we all do dumb things, referring to being injured and we arnt doing anything dangerous.
It kinda makes me wonder what Evel Kanivel felt..

I am reminded every morning how invisible we (motorcyclist) are - and let me tell you, nothing will make a person feel older than waking up to get thier teeth out of a cup of water.

A car pulled out in front of me and I went flying up and came down on my face. I would hate to see what would have happened if I wasn't wearing a full-faced helmet.

Non-emotional scars: Chin, elbows, chest, busted teeth, and knees from bicycle (BMX) wrecks. Fingers from working on boats. Face, from cheek to ear due to spinning around in a chair and then being flung off, parallel to a wall which had a nail sticking out. Nail ripped through my cheek! Not so visible now, but I still get a few jokes about looking like some German fencer. Small one on neck from cervical lamectomy resulting from broken neck. Broken just about every bone, too. My poor Mother was always taking me to Emergency rooms. Pace, Gris.

RE: Scars

Sorry, no pics, no scanner here at work. Age 11, found a cracked jar in the yard and put both middle fingers in the neck to see if I could pull it apart. Yeah, it worked, 13 stitches in left middle finger! Road rash at age 8 while riding my dad's old Cushman scooter on the street, hit some sand on a curve and went down, scar on right hand. Age 15, loose gravel + bike = 8 stitches in right elbow. Age 21, showing off on a dirt bike, "Hey y'all, watch this!" Went down, lay there winded until I smelled burning and realised it was the pipe cooking my right knee, nice rosy scar. A few more crashes but no scars until '98. T-boned an SUV at 30, c**t made a U-turn as I was passing a line of stationary traffic, 10 feet in front of me! No idea how many stitches; 26 trips to hospital, 2 bone grafts, steel plates and pins, left arm looks like a road map with a few divots taken out of the old flesh! In '01 a British postman exited a one way street in front of me, Ilocked up, stopped, overbalanced and put out my left hand to save the bike (like I was really gonna hold up a Z1000 one handed!). I heard the snap as the wrist went. This was the same one that had cost me 2 and half years off work after the T-boned SUV in '98. Back to hospital for another bone graft and more steel plates and pins. I swear, I can't pass a metal detector now! The only upside to the last two was that it happened in Britain, God bless the National Health Service! Never paid a penny in medical costs! What do you suppose 3 weeks in hospital, 3 bone grafts, 2 ambulance trips, meds and the services of FIVE consultant surgeons and an anesthesiologist, physiotherapy and hydrotherapywould have cost here?
