Default Saw a GSX-R 600 crash tonight, No Squid

Today at about 9:30 PM on our way back from work, (you have to love being middle class 18 hour work days for both of us)
Anyway, we see this GSX-R riding in the oposite direction on a 6 lane highway (3 each way). He was in the middle lane, just as he waspassing us, I see a flash in the conrer of my eye, and I imeddiateley knew what had happened. As soon as I look I see the bike skidding on its side and the cars arround him stopping. I Immediateley made a U turn, and crossed my car in the middle of the street blocking trafic.
We got to him before they could get the bike up, but thankfully he was already on his feet. He had only minor injuries because he was wearing gear, but no gloves, so he had a minor laceration on his right hand. Young kid too, mabe on his early 20's.

Turns out a guy on a SUV cut right in front of him, and he crashed right into the back of it. As for his bike, the front mask was cracked, but the framesliders saved his lower fairings and clutch cover. he had a bent rear brake lever and rashed up yoshi pipe. All in all he faired out pretty good.

The guy on the minivan wanted to exchange Inshurance info and take off saying that It wasn't his fault because the bike hit him from behind. Thankfully there where about 4 witnesses that saw him cut in front of him, and we all told him that if he so much as thoght about leaving before the police or ambulance arrived, we would all testify as to hit and run.

dont have mush more details, as I gave my phone number and left as soon as the police arrived.

Nice Story! .. Glad everything worked out and the rider walked away. This story brings up many great things like gear for the rider and bike.

I know you say "no squid," but how much faster than traffic do you need to be going to hit a car that changes lanes directly in the back? I can see getting "clipped" or "sideswiped," but hitting the back? If it looks like a squid and smells like a squid, it's probably a squid...or a girl with a really rotten crotch.

^see how retarded it looks when used so often...

No seriously, look at it, the words look weird. That's a weird word, "weird." Odd, but seriously, squid should be a banned word. It's b-a-n-a-n-a-s...

How about that, we replace, "squid" with, "b-a-n-a-n-a-s."

Glad he is alright!

I just absolutly love how all the guy is worrying about is his insurance. Its not like a guy smashed the ground off a motorcycle on a freeway or anything. People **** me off.

I agree with the others in saying both that I am glad he is alright, but that the cycle was going too fast for the traffic. An SUV takes a moment to cut over unless he's trying to go over on his side and roll down the highway, so the guy on the bike should have seen and slowed. (and then beat the F out of the guy for cutting him off)

I ride 10-15 mph faster then traffic. I feel safer doing that compared to being even with numb nuts incars that have to move over in a split second or that go from carpool lane to exit in .8 seconds and cause everyone to jam on their brakes.

Damn, around here that would mean you are doing 85 on the highway and 60 on the main roads.

I agree with all the other guys-he was going faster then he should have been. The van should not have cut him off. I always ride with gloves no matter if it's street or dirt. I need my hands in good working order.

I was very nice of you to go back and help the guy out. Riders should always look out for each other.
