So here's the big question.....

Frame sliders:

Save your body work and trash your frame?

Trash your body work and save your frame?

Interesting options.

If i had a choice, trash the body work.

I keep looking at my slider design and comparing it to others. But aside from looks, its not different from any removable puck design. If anything about the slider failed, it would be the bolt that goes into the engine mount. When i get her back I may look into replacing that bolt. Will definitely check the torque amounts.

i don't think the torque values would make a difference, i mean, unless it was dangling which i'm sure you would have noticed....

Well the bolt clearly bent. Not the slider body. And it was doing its job till it hit the curb. I didn't install the slider myself. Dealer did it for me. I'll still double check their work though.

Right now I'm writing it off as a freak occurance. The curbs aligned and we see the results. Same way I was at Revzilla the day before looking to buy leg protection and then I prolly come closer to breaking my leg the next day than I had my entire life.

Ray says she's done but its too late to make the run to the dealer... not without violating a couple speed laws. So she'll be here tomorrow \o/

Cause they replaced the midpipe and can, they aren't as discolored as the cat. Otherwise, what crash?

Photoshop the tag. Also, thanks again for the best buy card. It really wasn't necessary, but much appreciated.

Nobody has been able to give a concrete reason not to. Neither the puck nor the slider body failed.

And Yolie did slide over a curb onto the sidewalk. If you have a good reason why not to, I'm open to it. The service tech put her back to the condition prior to the low side, no alternative parts. So i can always buy a different set and go with them.
